Target

Target has been a frenzy of Easter Clearance and "hidden" sales. The Target's in my area began 90% off Easter items on Tuesday. Thanks to the mommy blogs a few items in the regular toy aisles were found to be 90% off although they weren't marked that way. My target deals for this week-

4 Gillette trail size shave gels (free with coupon)
59 3-packs of Mighty Beans ($.29 each, reg. price $2.99)
8 packs of Crayola Twistables Crayons ($.49 each, reg. price $4.99)
3 Thomas the Train motorized train sets ($1.49 each, reg price $14.99)
4 boxes John Frieda Foam Dye($1.98 each after coupons plus received $10 in Target gift cards)
4 Similac ready to feed (free with overage) (I have no big announcement here, they are to donate!)
4 Kandoo flushable wipes ($.49 each with coupon)
Bag of fruit snacks (again, Gavin...he really cuts into my bottom line!) ($.98)

total- $23.54

The Similac overage helped the total come down a bit and I paid for the John Frieda then used the two $5 gift cards on my next transaction. I used a manufacturer coupon and a Target coupon on the John Frieda making them a great price even before the gift card sale made them a money maker!

Apparently I have been missing out on a big Revlon deal at Target. I will be checking that out this weekend.

Kroger

I am loving this week at Kroger. I did several transactions over the last two days. Here is a tally of what I got and the total-

6  boxes Mom's Shredded Wheat cereal
4 Boulder Natural chips
Easter toy (clearly Gavin was with me during one transaction!)
16 Reach Toothbrushes
4 6-ct boxes Clif Kids Z bars
Freschetta Pizza
2 Ragu sauces
12 Weight Watchers Smart Ones Frozen Meals
12 Ronzoni Smart Ones boxes of pasta
Kroger Powder Sugar Donuts
10 Brut Deodorant
3 Rice Cakes
2 packs Kraft 2% lowfat Cheese
1 Toy Story 3 Toothpaste
1 box frozen grilled cheese pretzels

Total cost-$31.44
Total saved-$160.89 ($53 of that was coupons)

Considering the 16 Reach toothbrushes are $32 at regular price alone, I am pretty happy with that final cost. The Clif Bars will be used for Logan's baseball team and the rest we will eat or use. Thankfully Donny came with a deep freezer for the basement!

Great week to start couponing!

There are tons of websites that tell you the sale items at the store of your choice and what coupons may match that sale. Any google search will lead you to any of the mommy blogs that post links to printable coupons. I like two sites right now, www.slickdeals.net and www.bargainstobounty.com. If you want to coupon and start saving money, this week is a great week to do it at Kroger!

My dirty little secret

I've thought about blogging but struggled to find something interesting to share. I'm not comfortable putting our daily details or pictures of my kids on an open blog and don't find it necessary to detail our daily events to the world. I've been couponing for years and as TLC's couponing show becomes a topic of conversation, I thought I'd air the secret I've been hiding. Hi, I'm Georgia and I use coupons. Coupons almost seem to have a negative connotation, like yuck who wants to cut those little pieces of paper and save money. Well, I do and I have saved thousands of dollars over the past few years and I am proud of it.
